An ensemble for violinists, violists and cellists to play together and develop their musicianship and performance experience.  We often build smaller groups such as quartets from the members of the String Ensemble. Please note that this term the content will be for grade 4 and above. Mrs Hunt is a piano and cello teacher at the school and very friendly!

Chamber Choir

An auditioned, four-part choir singing pop and classical music to a very high standard.  Members are able to read music, or they learn during rehearsals!  A very friendly group - bring your lunch and chat before we warm up. There are several public performances a year and an expectation that you will practise your part at home.  If you already singing in a choir/have singing lessons or play an instrument and you are interested in auditioning, please email or come and find Mrs de Braux.

Prehistory Club

For all with an interest in the history of life on Earth. In prehistory club we will explore how species evolved from microscopic cells, to the enormous dinosaurs of the Cretaceous, and the rise of humanity from stone to the Metal Ages.

Prehistory club will look at aspects of Palaeontology, Archaeology, and Geology through the study of specimens, documentaries on different forms of life and the history of the Earth, and completing projects, with field-trips to Butser Ancient Farm and Dinosaur Isle later in the year.

British Sign Language Club

Join in and learn conversational British Sign Language.  No previous knowledge is needed and you can join at any time.  A great skill for communicating with anyone who uses sign language - and really useful for chatting in a noisy environment!  You can work towards gaining a Level 1 Award in British Sign Language. Bring your lunch along and relax while learning a new language and valuable skill.

The Mandarin Homework Club is a relaxed after-school space where Year 7, 8 and 9 Mandarin CLIL pupils can complete their Mandarin or general homework with support on hand if needed. It's a drop-in format, so pupils can come along whenever they'd like, and a safeguarding register will be kept. The club is brilliant because it gives pupils a quiet, focused environment to work, extra help with Mandarin when required, and the chance to build good study habits alongside classmates.

Club times will be updated each half term based on Mrs Carter's availability, as her after-school duties may vary.
