Title: Algebraic independence of the Eisenstein series and common zeros of quasimodular forms
Abstract: In 1996, Nesterenko established the algebraic independence between the values of the Eisenstein series and the exponential function. In this talk, we extend this result to arbitrary arithmetic Hecke triangle groups. Specifically, we prove the algebraic independence of values of certain Eisenstein series and the exponential function for these groups and discuss their applications for the study of quasimodular forms.

Title: Polyharmonic Maass forms and L-values
Abstract: The theory of harmonic Maass forms has been developed with importance in many subjects such as modular forms and physics. Recently, it was discovered that forms with more relaxed conditions (called polyharmonic Maass forms) can also play an important role. In this talk, we observe the space of polyharmonic Maass forms and relate polyharmonic Maass forms to L-functions of cuspidal modular forms.

Title: The local converse theorem for quasi-split SO(2n)
Abstract: Local converse theorem (LCT) has many interesting applications. For example, global rigidity theorem and injectivity of global factorial lift of global generic cuspidal representations of classical groups immediately follows from it. Starting from Jiang and Soudry's pioneering work for SO(2n+1), the LCT has now proved for almost all classical groups but quasi-split SO(2n). In this talk, we discuss the proof of LCT for quasi-split SO(2n) by studying the relation of gamma factors between SO(2n) and Sp(2n). If time permits, we also discuss the positive characteristic cases as well as the characteristic zero cases. This is a joint work with Yeansu Kim and Sanghoon Kwon.

Title: Root numbers of CM elliptic curves
Abstract : Hasse-Weil conjecture asserts that L-function of a given elliptic curve over a number field has an analytic continuation to whole complex numbers and satisfies functional equation. The root number is defined to be the sign appearing in the functional equation. Although this definition is conjectural, there is another definition of Langlands and Deligne which is not conjectural. Distribution of root numbers is one of interesting problems in the theory of elliptic curves. In this talk, we discuss local and global root number formulas of CM elliptic curves. Using this formula, we can find infinitely many elliptic curves such that the global root numbers become 1 for all quadratic extensions (in which Dokchitser and Dokchitser call 'lawful' elliptic curves). This is joint work with Myungjun Yu.
