Title: First sign changes of modular forms for general level N
Abstract: Let f(z) = \sum_{n>0} a(n)q^n be a cusp form of weight k on Γ_0(N). When N is squarefree, Choie and Kohnen gave a bound that the first sign change of a(n) occurs, and recently it was improved by He and Zhao. In this paper, we compute a bound for the first sign change problem for arbitrary N.

Title: Uniform boundedness on rational maps with automorphisms
Abstract: In the field of arithmetic dynamics, we study number theoretic aspects of discrete dynamical systems induced by rational maps. In this talk, we briefly discuss basic concepts in arithmetic dynamics and introduce a recent result on the uniform boundedness of preperiodic points on rational maps with certain nontrivial automorphisms.

Title: Congruences for odd class numbers of quadratic fields with odd discriminant
Abstract: In the 1970s, Zagier obtained a beautiful formula between the class numbers of imaginary quadratic fields and the Hirzebruch sums of quadratic irrationals that are representatives for the class group of the maximal order of a real quadratic field. Recently, Kaneko and Mizuno generalized Zagier's formula to a general order. In this talk, we introduce the formula and study its applications: congruences modulo powers of 2 for the class numbers of quadratic fields.

Title: Orbital integrals for gln and smoothening
Abstract: Orbital integral is a fundamental object in the geometric side of the trace formula. A traditional method to study orbital integrals is through Bruhat-Tits building or affine Springer fiber. In this talk, we will propose another method to study orbital integrals using smoothening. As an application, we will explain a closed formula of the orbital integral for gln with n=2,3 and a new lower bond for a general n. We also propose a conjecture about the estimation of the orbital integral for any n. Our method works for any local field of characteristic 0 or >n. This is a joint work with Sungmun Cho.
