Baseball Alumni, Parents and Friends of the program,

As the holiday season quickly approaches, I hope this e-mail finds you doing well. Many of you will be home for the holidays and/or talking to former teammates or friends from the CNS baseball program. As you are well aware, there is a tremendous history from the success of past years to the present when it comes to baseball in this community. The Northstars Baseball Wall of Fame has been created to recognize and honor graduates from Cicero, North Syracuse or Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Each year, the Alumni Committee considers nominated graduates who have achieved a high level of prominence in their personal or professional lives and who have participated in extensive community service or volunteer activities to be inducted into the Baseball Wall of Fame. In 2015, our alumni committee also decided to recognize former players who went on and signed a professional contract, played four years at the Division 1 level or finished their college careers playing baseball at the Division 1 level. The committee made this decision because we feel it is extremely important not only to recognize former players for their success at a higher level in baseball, but more importantly, to show current players that with a lot of hard work and dedication you can accomplish similar goals through the great game of baseball. We are excited about the opportunity to remember the past and to honor former players from Cicero, North Syracuse and now Cicero-North Syracuse. Each and every year, the Wall of Fame committee selects former players that have been nominated for the Northstars Baseball Wall of Fame. These nominations come from former players or friends of the program. This year, as you spend the holidays with family and possible old friends please think about nominating someone for the Northstars Baseball Wall of Fame. The nomination form is attached and the deadline to nominate someone is Feb 1^st, 2019. This will give the Wall of Fame committee time to review the nominations and select an honoree to honor at our annual golf tournament on June 9th. Please note: a nomination form must be submitted in order to be considered, please do not just send names. Chances are, you will know more about the nominee than the alumni committee so we will need accurate information on the nomination form so the committee can make an educated decision on who the program should nominate each year. Congratulations to Eric Hamilton (13’), nominated inductee and Owen Dziados (CNS, 14’), player inductee for being chosen for the 2019 class of the Northstars Baseball Wall of Fame. If an alumnus was nominated last year, they will automatically be part of the nomination process this year.

Along with the Northstars Baseball Wall of Fame, we have created the Patio of Pavers where former players, parents and friends of the program can make a donation to the program in exchange for a paver that leads to the Wall of Fame. See details attached if interested. 1940's – Elmer Westfall - NS class of 1946. Seven year pro. Slugged 87 homeruns.

1960's - John Unger - NS class of 1967. Two Sectional Championships, 2 time SU MVP, HR in first pro at bat.

North Syracuse 1966 - 1967 Teams. Perhaps best team ever in Central New York. Won consecutive Sectional Championships and 43 games in a row; 50 - 2 record.

Cicero-North Syracuse 1988 Team - State AA Finalist with 19-7 record.
