The North East Epilepsy Research Meeting 2025 was held in collaboration with the CloseNIT network at the Boiler House, Newcastle University, on 6–7 March 2025.
The two-day event brought together researchers, clinicians, and trainees working across epilepsy research, neurotechnology, and translational neuroscience. Hosted in the heart of Newcastle University, the meeting provided a vibrant forum for interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration between basic scientists, engineers, and clinical researchers.
The programme featured a broad range of presentations spanning neuroimaging, intracranial and scalp EEG analysis, computational modelling, and emerging data-driven approaches to understanding epileptic brain networks and improving surgical outcomes. Alongside invited talks, the meeting highlighted contributions from early career researchers, fostering discussion and visibility for new work in the field.
Overall, the event strengthened regional and national links across epilepsy research communities and supported ongoing collaboration between academic and clinical centres.
