1. What is NSTP?
NSTP is a government program designed to promote civic consciousness, patriotism, and defense preparedness among Filipino youth through training in one of three components.
The three components are: Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), Literacy Training Service (LTS), and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
All male and female students enrolled in any baccalaureate or at least two-year technical/vocational courses in public or private higher education institutions must complete NSTP as a graduation requirement.
4. How long is the NSTP program?
The program is taken over two semesters, with each semester worth 3 units, totaling 6 units. Classes typically run 54 to 90 hours per semester.
6. What is the purpose of NSTP?
NSTP aims to develop the youth’s physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being and promote ethics of service and patriotism.
7. Are there exemptions from NSTP?
Exemptions apply to students who have already completed NSTP in a prior degree, transferees/shiftees who completed NSTP before transferring, and foreign students.
