Short description: This course offers an introduction to topological order in quantum systems. Starting from an entanglement-based classification of topological states of matter, topological invariants will be introduced and applied to classify gapped many-body ground states. Band topology will be discussed, without interactions, before moving on to strongly correlated systems such as fractional quantum Hall states, Chern insulators and quantum gauge theories. Topics include:
Entanglement classification, Topological band theory, Anyons, Toric code
