Seeley Lake is nestled deep in the woods of Western Montana. Nestled on the lake that shares it's name, Seeley is a small but important part of the Clearwater Pacific system. The city is based on tourism thanks to the lake but the railroad still plays a very important role. When Glacier Corridor Energy failed to get a pipeline built from the south, the Clearwater Pacific became that pipeline. Also providing key connections with the Glacier Rail Park in Kalispell and access to the BNSF's Northern Transon Seeley Lake has become a true railroad town.
The main customer in Seeley Lake is Montana West LNG Logistics with three spots. A common two spot team track with dock sees steady traffic and Berman Ag Supply sees everything from horse feed to tractors. The Kalispell Southern makes it's way down each night to drop off cars to be picked up and sent south.
Glacier Rail Park
Glacier Rail Park is a rail-served industrial district on the northeast side of Kalispell, Montana, developed to preserve and modernize freight rail service in the Flathead Valley. Opened in 2018 through a partnership between local agencies and BNSF Railway, the park consolidated rail-served industries into a purpose-built site while allowing former downtown trackage to be repurposed for community use.
Today, Glacier Rail Park hosts a mix of agricultural supply, building materials, manufacturing, and transload operations. BNSF provides line-haul service and interchange, while local and shortline partners handle on-site switching and distribution. The park continues to serve as a key logistics hub for northwest Montana, balancing modern freight needs with the region’s long railroad heritage.
