This is the team project I completed as part of the requirement for the Human Factors of Gerontechnology coursework. Based on what we learned about older adults and their characteristics, my project team critiqued the Chase mobile App to discover issues with the interface and provided recommendations to Chase for redesigning it. We used five evaluation techniques:
Heuristic evaluation
Survey
Comparative analysis
Hierarchical task analysis
Layout analysis
This is the team project I completed as part of the requirement for the Statistical Methods for Public Health Evaluation coursework. My teammates (n=4) and I evaluated the effectiveness of the direct education lessons offered by our community partner - the Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program. Based on pre-and post- survey responses from their program participants, we evaluate their interventions with proper statistical methods using STATA programming. I served as one of the statisticians for my team to conduct statistical analysis.
This photovoice project (part of the Intro to Public Health coursework) on Adult Obesity in Tippecanoe County, IN answers the following questions:
Phase 1
Discuss the necessary epidemiological data associated with it.
Why is this health issue a priority in the county you selected?
What behaviors may be associated with this health outcome?
What determinants may be influencing the top 1-2 behaviors?
Bring in 5-6 more resources to justify (and cite) how this behavior is related to this health outcome.
Phase 2
Expand on how these photos document the health disparity.
What do you see here?
What is really happening here?
How does this relate to our lives?
Why does this situation, concern, or strength exist?
What can we do about it?
Finally, how would you engage community leaders and stakeholders to address this health issue?
What popular opinion leaders (POLs) and stakeholders are vital to intervening?
What cultural aspects are documented within the photos or are notable within this particular community?
What health policy aspects are documented within the photos or are notable within this particular community?
Understanding the Qualities of Undergraduate Students Leading to High Academic Performance in IE 38600 Laboratory Sessions at Purdue University
This final project report combines the concepts covered in the Industrial Applications of Statistics course in a cohesive fashion from start to finish. I created and analyzed a 2-level full factorial experiment with data simulated using Minitab.
Ergonomic Simulation and Analysis of Manikins Working in a Pre-designed Excavator
This project is a part of the Applied Ergonomics coursework. The Computer-Aided Engineering Software RAMSIS provided by Human Solutions was used as a part of the project to conduct ergonomic analyses of the manikins in the excavator environment. 3D CAD data (e.g. geometry scene elements and anthropometric data) were manipulated and a few analytic functions in RAMSIS were utilized to interpret the discomfort levels of the manikins' positions. Suggested modifications were proposed for position improvement.
