For around twenty years, Clive and his colleagues have been facilitating Action Learning Sets for leaders to share their challenges with like-minded supporters from other organisations. This service is free-of-charge (except for expenses incurred) to any leader whose purpose makes our world a better place. In our experience most organisations qualify! The intention is to help leaders deliver a brighter future through the work they do.
Arrange a consultation with Clive - to help him understand your challenge and agree the time, place and attendees for your forum. Most leaders choose a suitable room at their own premises and book it for a morning. They invite people they respect from their own network and can seek others through social media. Most of our forums have been in-person during a morning, starting with a coffee (and perhaps a simple snack) and fininshing at noon to allow supporters to return to their own work and challenges! We don't advise hosts to provide lunch. This sets a precedent that others may not be able to follow :-)
Typical agenda:
9am - Coffee on arrival
9.30am - Welcome, brief introductions and overview of the process
10am - Host leader describes their challenge in about ten minutes and our facilitator will lead one round of action learning to glean a single comment or question from each attendee. The host leader will respond.
10.45am - comfort break
11am - Facilitator leads a second and possibly third round of input, following which they invite the host leader to make their commitment to action. We celebrate the host's commitment and share learning from the supporters.
Noon - Forum closes.
