SUESCA GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Here are some recommended ways to prepare responsibly, act respectfully, and do your part to help protect the environment:

-If you bring it with you, take it out with you.

-Only throw trash away in designated places.

-If there is trash around, even if it's not your’s, take it out with you.

-Leave things the same way you found them, if not better.

-Respect and protect your life and the lives of those around you.

-Avoid excessive noise and keep your belongings organized.

-If you do not have the necessary experience or equipment, do not attempt to climb the rocks. Instead, hire an experienced guide to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

-Although Suesca generally enjoys dry weather, conditions can change unexpectedly. Be prepared for sudden changes by bringing appropriate clothing and gear.

-A helmet can prevent serious injuries. You never know when an accident might happen, so always wear one while climbing and belaying.

-Make it a habit to inspect and maintain your climbing gear regularly. Check for signs of wear and tear, keep your equipment in good condition, and replace any worn or damaged items when necessary.

-Do not move stones, boulders, or other objects from the climbing routes. Be especially cautious of loose rocks, particularly on weekends, as they may fall and injure climbers, hikers, or other visitors below.

-Although some local climbers are actively rebolting routes, it is always essential to inspect the anchors before use.

-Always double-check your knots and ensure your gear is properly fitted before climbing.

-Do not climb on or near areas marked with pictograms. The information about them is very limited, and stepping on them or covering them with chalk can cause irreversible damage and hinder future research/conservation work.

-Do not remove plants or natural growth to create or expand climbing routes.

-Respect established trails and stay on designated paths. Creating new access routes to climbing areas can fragment vegetation and cause serious harm to local plant and animal species.

-If you decide to bring dogs, keep them under control and close to you to avoid disturbing local wildlife and other visitors.
