The Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition of KC and the Environmental Action Network of Village Church are co-hosting Chick Keller who will discuss Climate Change: What Will Happen? This class is a sequel to Keller's three-part fall series entitled Climate Change Update: Big Changes Coming. These classes are being offered by Village U.
Class Description:
Climate change is real and impacts from climate change are emerging. Despite the many efforts under way, we are not winning the battle to save the planet. Our way of life is threatened; the choices we make now are important. The class will highlight current and potential future impacts to thwart climate change, discuss alternative actions we might take and what might happen.
About the Speaker:
The class leader is Charles "Chick" Keller. Chick was an executive at Black & Veatch for 15 years and was VP for strategy. In this role he represented Black & Veatch as a speaker at many regional, national, and global energy conferences. Later in his career he was a professor in the Master of Engineering management program at Kansas University. Currently retired, Chick enjoys lake life at Lake Lotawana; volunteers to manage various lake projects; and reads 5 major publications regularly to keep up on issues that interest him, such as global warming and income disparity. Chick is a long-time member of Village Church and a member of its Environmental Action Network.
