2025 marked a defining year for CLEIIN Africa as we deepened our commitment to climate education, youth leadership, and community-driven action across Africa. Through innovative programmes, grassroots outreach, and global engagement, CLEIIN empowered thousands of young Africans to lead climate solutions and adopt sustainable habits.

Driving Climate Awareness and Advocacy

We kicked off the year by amplifying global environmental moments, including World Seagrass Day, International Day of Forests, and International Day of Zero Waste, highlighting ecosystem protection, food security, and sustainable waste solutions.

At the Green Innovation Summit 2025, our Founder, Mayowa Oniosun, delivered a plenary presentation on Enhancing Green Entrepreneurship in Africa, contributing to continental conversations on sustainability and the green economy.

Youth Leadership for a Green Future

A key highlight of 2025 was the Green Future Leadership Accelerator Programme. Over three months, 1000+ youths were reached, with 300+ participants completing 10+ hours of intensive training, equipping them to design and implement climate education and action projects in their communities.

This resulted in 30+ community-led initiatives, including school climate outreach, environmental awareness campaigns, tree planting, greening activities, and community clean-ups. These initiatives exemplify how training transforms into tangible local impact.

Raising Ecochampions: CLiCK Outreach 2025

In June and July, CLEIIN demonstarted impactful volunteer leadership through CLiCK Outreach 2025, directly engaging 8000+ students in about 10 secondary schools in Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Through in-person sessions led by our team, students explored climate change, sustainability, and career pathways in the green economy, allowing youth leaders to apply their training to inspire environmental stewardship and community action.

Grassroots Climate Action Across Africa

From August to November, CLEIIN Green Leaders led climate education, waste management, gardening, and tree planting activities in over 30 communities across 7 African Countries. These actions empowered students and communities with practical tools for environmental stewardship.

Global Engagement and Partnerships

In September, CLEIIN launched the WearItWise 7-Day Advocacy Challenge to mark World Cleanup Day 2025 in collaboration with AIIDEV Africa and Green Cosmos Zambia, reaching 60,000+ Africans and young people with daily climate education content and DIY sustainability practices. The seven-day campaign focused on textile and fashion waste, encouraging clothing repair, repurposing, and circular fashion practices concluded with a radio engagement in Kano State, Nigeria, delivered in Hausa, ensuring culturally relevant climate communication and wider community inclusion.

In October, CLEIIN joined the SDSN Youth Global Network, amplifying our global advocacy for youth leadership and SDG action. We also launched a COP Explainer Series, demystifying UN climate negotiations and enabling young people to engage in climate discourse at local and global levels.

2025 demonstrated the power of youth-led climate leadership, community engagement, and practical action. As we move forward, CLEIIN will focus on:
