Refraction Through Glass Slab
In this activity, students observed the phenomenon of refraction, which is the bending of light when it passes from one medium to another. A ray of light was directed through a rectangular glass slab, and its path was traced. It was observed that the light ray bent towards the normal when entering the glass slab and away from the normal when leaving it. The emergent ray was found to be parallel to the incident ray but laterally displaced. This experiment helped students understand how light changes direction due to a change in its speed while traveling through different transparent materials.
