What happens next

Your comments and views are important and will be carefully considered by the design and planning team as they draw up more detailed proposals.

A second round of consultation will be held early next year, when we will present more developed proposals and demonstrate how the team has responded to feedback.

We aim to submit the planning application in late Spring 2024. Once the planning application has been submitted, there will be further statutory consultation led by Exeter City Council, when you will have another opportunity to comment before any formal planning decision is made.

Project timeline

This diagram shows the project timeline starting with a presentation to Design West in September 2023, followed by a Planning Members Working Group meeting in November, a meeting with Historic England in early December. Following this public consultation, we will be analysing feedback in Januart and hosting a second public exhibition in March. In anticipation of a planning approval, it is hoped that construction would start in Quarter 3 of 2025.
