Personal Information

We collect basic account information such as your name and email address through Firebase Authentication. This information is used to create your account and sync your diary entries across devices.

User Content

Dear Claire allows you to create private diary entries. These may include text, photos, and audio recordings. All user-generated content is securely stored using Firebase Firestore and Google Cloud Storage and is accessible only to you.

Location Information

We collect precise and approximate location data (GPS or network-based) to:

• Geotag diary entries

• Provide location-based reminders

Location data may be collected in the background if you grant background location permissions.

Usage and Diagnostic Data

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage and diagnostic data. This helps us understand how the app is used, identify bugs, and improve performance and stability.

Device Identifiers

We may collect device identifiers for advertising, attribution, and analytics purposes.

2. Permissions and Device Access

Dear Claire may request the following permissions to enable core features of the app:

• Camera and Photo Library: To allow you to attach photos to your diary entries

• Microphone: To record audio notes or voice-to-text entries

• Location: To tag memories with places and enable smart reminders

• App Tracking (iOS): To deliver relevant and personalized advertisements through Google AdMob

You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

3. Third-Party Services

Dear Claire uses trusted third-party services to operate and improve the app. These services may collect data used to identify you in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and crash reporting

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Advertising and monetization

• Agora: Real-time communication features (where applicable)

4. Data Sharing and Tracking

• Advertising: Device identifiers may be shared with advertising partners to provide personalized ads.

• Service Providers: We share data only with the third-party services listed above to maintain app functionality.

• No Data Sales: We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

All data sharing is limited to what is necessary to operate and improve the app.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account and all associated data—including diary entries, images, and audio recordings—at any time through the app settings.

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. This includes SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit and secure cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase.
