Dear Claire (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Dear Claire mobile application (“the App”).

Sync diary entries across devices
Provide secure login access
Dear Claire is a private journaling application. You may create and store:
Text diary entries
Photos
Audio recordings
User-generated content is securely stored using:
Firebase Firestore
Google Cloud Storage
Your diary entries are private and accessible only to you unless you choose to share them.
We do not review, sell, or publicly distribute your personal diary content.
If you grant permission, we may collect:
Precise GPS location
Approximate network-based location
Location data may be used to:
Geotag diary entries
Provide memory-based or location-based reminders
Location may be collected in the background only if you explicitly grant background location access.
You may disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.
We use:
Firebase Analytics
Firebase Crashlytics
These services collect anonymized usage data such as:
App performance metrics
Crash reports
Feature usage statistics
This helps us improve app stability and user experience.
We may collect device identifiers for:

If you are on iOS, you may be asked to grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. You may decline tracking and still use the app.

Tracking Permission (iOS) – For personalized ads
All permissions are optional and can be revoked via device settings.
Dear Claire uses trusted third-party services including:
Firebase (Authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting)
Google Cloud Storage
Google AdMob
Agora (where real-time features are enabled)
These services process data according to their own privacy policies.
We share data only when necessary to:
Operate core features
Provide cloud storage
Serve ads (if enabled)
Maintain performance
We do not sell personal information.
We retain your data as long as your account remains active.
You may:
Delete diary entries at any time
Delete your entire account from within the app
Request deletion via email at dearclaireapp@gmail.com
Upon deletion, associated content (entries, photos, audio files) will be permanently removed from our systems.
Dear Claire is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your country).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we discover that personal information from a child has been collected without parental consent, we will:
Immediately suspend the account
Delete associated data
Take steps to prevent future occurrences
We do not allow public user interaction features within the diary app.
Diary entries remain private by default.
No public messaging system exists that exposes children to strangers.
Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information may contact us for immediate deletion.
We implement industry-standard safeguards including:
SSL/TLS encryption in transit
Secure cloud infrastructure
Restricted database access controls
However, no system is 100% secure. Users are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date.
Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance.

You retain full ownership of your diary entries, photos, and recordings.
By using the App, you grant us a limited license solely to:
Store your content
Sync it across devices

We do not claim ownership of your personal memories.
You may not:
Use the App for illegal purposes
Attempt to hack or disrupt services
Upload malicious code
Violate intellectual property rights
The free version may display advertisements via Google AdMob.
You may opt out of personalized tracking where applicable.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time via app settings.
Dear Claire is provided “as is.”
We are not liable for:
Loss of diary entries due to user error
Device malfunctions
Unauthorized access due to compromised credentials
Users are encouraged to maintain personal backups.
These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws in the jurisdiction where the developer operates.
