Volunteer awards

what are the volunteer awards?

Any voluntary work you do, either at College or with an outside organisation, qualifies you to enter the Volunteer Awards scheme. This includes roles through the SA such as Class Rep, Society Convenor or Parliament Member as well as opportunities advertised by us, or a volunteer role you found yourself.

To start working towards the Award, you should log the hours you work on your Volunteer Hub profile. This will generate an evidenced list of your skills which you can put to use when writing CVs and cover letters. Depending on the number of hours, the skills you build and the training you undertake, you will qualify for either a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award which will also look great on your CV!

Are you passionate about volunteering? We love to celebrate the achievements of our students in our news articles and social media. Click here to let us know what you've been up to!

Support

If your volunteer role is through Students' Association, such as a Society Convenor or Class Rep, you will be given a full volunteer induction and relevant training. However, all users of the Volunteering Hub, including those volunteering with organisations outwith the Colleve, are supported by the Student' Association.

For support with accessing volunteering opportunities, do speak to one of our Volunteer Ambassadors or contact Hannah Ferguson, one of our Student Engagement Officers. We also offer regular volunteering workshops designed to help you make the most out of your opportunities and experiences both in and out of college.
