The City of San Fernando is a first-class component city and the capital of the Province of Pampanga. It is the regional center of Central Luzon with a land area of 6,774 hectares, comprised of 35 barangays and a population of 354,666 as of 2022. Being at the heart of the province, the city has 83 banks, 103 schools, 20 hotels/motels, 6 bus terminals, 75 pawnshops, 4 public markets, 66 warehouses, 120 residential subdivisions, 16 malls and supermarkets and 11 cemeteries.
The City of San Fernando Police Station has a total strength of 114 personnel wherein ten (10) are PCOs, ninety-seven (97) PNCOs and seven (7) NUP. The one hundred seven (107) uniformed personnel cater the 354,666 populaces with police to population ratio of 1: 3,410.

At about 9:00 am of September 6, 2022 personnel of City of San Fernando Police Station led by the hardworking Chief of Police PLTCOL EUGENE M MARCELO, conducted 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗡 (Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan) Launching, Cascading, & Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing together with our Active Chairman of City for Peace and Order, Hon Redentor Halili, Bishop Alex Santos of Values Formation Council Moral Values, Inc. Mr. Salman Ampuan, Muslim Community, Pastor Lester Samson, MBK, Rev Lani Infante Sanctuary of Glory Church, KKDAT and Advocacy Support Group held at Conference Room, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. It is a joint effort of the Philippine National Police, the Church and the Community which aims to promote camaraderie towards a progressive and peaceful community.
On September 8, 2022, at about 9:00 AM., the City of San Fernando Police Station staff participated in the 3rd quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), which was held at PNP SACOP, Brgy. Maimpis in this city in observance of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. The main event was held in Makati City's Legazpi Village.
