Summer Musical Auditions are open to current FWISD students in 8th - 12th grade at the time of the auditions.

To be considered for a role you must complete the Online Audition Form and you must participate in both the Dance Performance Audition and the Vocal Performance Audition. Audition Form submission is DUE NO LATER THAN  9:00 PM APRIL 1, 2024.

Headshot and Resume

Please bring a current headshot or photo and updated one page resume to the Dance Performance Audition. Both the headshot/photo and resume will not be returned. The resume must be one (1) page. Cut the resume to match the 8x10 headshot and staple the headshot and resume back to back at the top and bottom. Click here for for some examples of theatre headshots and resumes.

Dance Performance Auditions

Come prepared to learn a musical theatre dance audition in the style of the show. You may be asked to stay to learn an additional combination. Dress appropriately for a dance audition. Appropriate and modest dance or exercise attire is expected. Jazz or ballet shoes are appropriate for the audition.

Vocal Performance Auditions

Prepare, memorize, and perform the appropriate cuts from the Vocal Selections for the character/songs for which you are auditioning. Most likely we will only hear one or two cuts at the initial audition. Do not expect to sing for every role in the show. Audition order, day, and time is determined by filling out the Online Audition Form. Dress your best for the Vocal Performance Audition appropriate to the character for which you wish to be considered.

Call Backs

If you are asked to participate in Call Backs, you may perform cold readings from the Script. Be familiar with the script. A new dance audition is taught at Call Backs. You may be asked to sing again or sing another selection. Please come dressed comfortably, but still appropriate for an audition.

Enter through the glass doors under the bright yellow section of the new building. This is the Performing Arts Center.

Check-In takes place in the front lobby and the Production Assistants provide instructions and directions to the Audition Room.

Our first Company Meeting/Rehearsal is May 15, at 5:00 at I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA in the Black Box Theatre.

Rehearsals begin May 15 at 5:00 

After casting, each cast member receives the script and score. Each cast member is responsible for learning lines, lyrics, and parts by Monday, June 3, 2024.

Rehearsals are required for all Company Members when called. A detailed Rehearsal Schedule is provided at the first rehearsal. Dates and times are subject to change and every actor may not be needed for every rehearsal, but should clear your calendar of all conflicts.
