 2025 Faculty Development Workshop/English Teacher Retreat

Teacher Retreats are an opportunity for full- and part-time English teachers to share ideas about their Chuo English classes, discuss approaches to particular courses, and contribute to the process of developing the overall 3.4 / 7.8+ curriculum. 

We began having retreats in 2002 and had the 20th in June 2023.  From 2009, the retreats also became known as Faculty Development Workshops. Originally held once or twice a  year on weekends, Chuo University's beautiful, old guest house in Hayama, on the Kanagawa coast, or at the former Chuo Surugadai Memorial Hall in Ochanomizu, Tokyo, retreats are now held on Sundays at the new Myogadani campus.
