Laboratory for Genomics and Development, NTU

We, the Laboratory for Genomics and Development (LGD), formerly known as the Laboratory for Genetics and Development, situated within the Department of Entomology at National Taiwan University (NTU), are actively engaged in research on genes associated with germline specification, axis determination, and organ formation in both parthenogenetic and viviparous aphids. Furthermore, we have successfully established the pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) and the green peach aphid (Myzus persicae) as emerging model organisms for developmental studies. We extend a warm invitation to you to join us in delving into the distinctive developmental mechanisms of aphids.

We are honored that our research results have been selected as the cover images of "Development Genes and Evolution" (left, since 2022) and "Insect Molecular Biology" (right, since 2020). This indicates that mechanisms concerning parthenogenetic and viviparous development, particularly germline specification and axis determination, have garnered attention from developmental biologists worldwide.
