Students interview at our interview fair hosted on campus. Supervisors select and rank intern candidates; CHS staff make the final placement matches.

Internship Placement Process
Students can participate in field internships in one of two ways:
A student can seek out their own internship and apply, provided the company or organization meets our criteria and registers with CHS to complete all necessary paperwork
A student can also choose to compete for an internship with one of our industry partners. That student will participate in an on-campus interview fair held in our library.

Basics of the Interview Fair
The Internship Interview Fair is an opportunity for industry/community partners to meet a variety of applicants (between two and six) for their internship opening(s). Students can choose three or more internships they wish to apply for and prepare resumes for their interviews. Clairemont High School believes this process not only provides authentic industry interview practice but is also a tried and true method for creating successful match “hires” for all student interns.
After the Intern Interview Fair, staff carefully review the Intern Ranking Forms completed by supervisors. Students are also given a follow-up survey, asking them to rank their first choice preference for an internship. Staff takes this input into consideration. The goal is to create a win-win situation for both supervisor and student, matching interns according to similar supervisor preferences and student interests.
