Character Strength Creations

Students took the VIA Character Strength Survey to identify their strengths in character. They then had constraints on the materials they could use to bring one of their strengths to life in a creation. We shared our projects and reflections using Flipgrid. Mars or Bust

Students were placed into teams to participate in the Mars or Bust Challenge that was created by NASA and Destination Imagination. The constraints included material limitations, as well as time. Teams had to create buildings, transportation systems, or other systems that would be for human use while on Mars, taking in to consideration the research that was given to each team...as well as a video we watched. SECOND SEMESTER DESIGN TECH

Students were challenged to create the tallest tower they can using ONLY 10 sheets of paper. They were given 15 min. to work on this challenge. We practiced scoring paper, having the proper balance, engineering a strong base and more! We have a new record of 59 inches from a team in our 5th Hour!
