The Tree of Life. It is bigger than it looks, you're just far away!
Author's Notes:
Yes, the perspective change is intentional! I just wanted to get that out of the way because a few people had questions on it haha. The second person perspective in the introduction is intended to show the reader how powerful this God really is. He understands the young god's thoughts and emotions. The transition to the young god's perspective in the first story is intended to show how this power is made from the beginning.
My storybook is loosely based off of a story called “The Egg" written by Andy Weir. In this story, a middle-aged man is killed in an accident. When he awakes, he finds himself with a being that he would call God. God explains that the man will live every single life of humanity, and once he has done that, he himself will become a god.
In modern religions like Christianity, God is commonly thought of as the perfect, all-knowing being. I wanted to change that and show that even a god has to work hard. He learns, makes mistakes, loves, mourns, and even commits sin himself. Experiencing all of this will eventually make him into that perfect, all-knowing god we are so familiar with.
I am really going for a sense of mystery with this project, so I am sure you have many other questions so far. If you do, please let me know in the comments, but do not worry they will be answered soon in future stories. Each story is related to the ones before and after it, so I highly recommend reading them all!
