I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having received a dual Masters degree from Duke Divinity School and the UNC School of Social Work in 2015.
I believe that with adequate support, each person holds the capacity to heal and flourish. Throughout my clinical experiences in the fields of childhood development, disability, education, aging, hospice, grief and bereavement, I have had the honor of witnessing the resiliency of human beings, even in- and often particularly in- times of loss and uncertainty.
I take seriously my responsibility as a white therapist to acknowledge and dismantle systems of oppression in my work with clients. My approach is rooted in a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which familial, cultural, and institutional systems impact our individual sense of self. I warmly welcome all bodies, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, and racial identities.
I have a dynamic, compassionate approach that is personalized and relational. Depending on your needs and preferences, our sessions may incorporate cognitive-behavioral modalities, mindfulness, somatic techniques, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and creative exploration. My clients are navigating depression, anxiety, religious trauma, complicated grief, and low self-esteem. They are seeking deeper relationships with themselves and others and greater freedom to live an empowered and aligned life.
