Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
(Elizabeth Stone/Chris Donavan, 2022).
Parent Coaches work with parents like you who want to become better at "the most important job you'll ever have." They allow this coach to be a "thinking partner" who helps them identify their stressors and family challenges, evaluate the best resources to use and co-construct solutions to strengthen healthy parent-child relationships. This process gives them a new found peace, fresh confidence and an ability to better navigate the days ahead. Many parents find that they enjoy their family more.
Just the fact you are reading this shows that you are a good parent who only wants to become better. You want to create a home environment which displays your highest values. This kind of growth mindset opens up a future full of possibilities and promise. Finally, you get to smile at your future.
Great parenting happens one moment at a time.
When parents do their job well, they transform the world, one family at a time.
Testimonials
I am so glad I was willing to ask for help and my husband supported me in hiring you as a coach. We came to you with a very specific issue to dive into and you helped us solve not only that issue but gave us tools to help guide us holistically as we navigate the tough years of adolescence ahead of us. I felt very supported by you as we met each session and described our tendencies to handle situations even if it wasn't how we wanted to. Your encouragement and tools helped to shift our family dynamic in a way that feels amazing and more complete than ever. Thank you! (A.H., NC)
I am very grateful for where I am now since beginning the meeting. While I have always loved my children and enjoyed being around them, these sessions helped me to see a deeper side of where I am, where they are, and how I can proactively take one step at a time to enhance my role and relationship as a father. The positive feedback from my children regarding these steps have been the most wonderful testament. We have a stronger relationship now more than ever before, and I look forward to continuing the journey of being an "proactive" father, that my children may grow to be more loved, valued, and secure. While the journey ahead is long, I look forward to continuing a stable routine, working through my children's goals, conducting periodic family meetings, and being a dad they can trust through my example. (G.M., NC)
Things are just so much clearer. I think I was overthinking so many things, and it was all pretty normal. I was just stressing out because my expectations needed to change to match my children's developmental age. I also learned to reflect on the things I was doing right, and how I was actually a good parent. It was very helpful to learn about my parenting style. I also loved coming up with a family mission statement. (G.S., NC)
Your insight into my children's attitudes, and behaviors expanded my understanding of them and, as a result, my patience with them. Thank you for being in my village. (K. A., NC)
