The AF Academy has an incredible program and from 1989 to 1993 I was there! I graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering degree and spent 6 more years as an Air Force officer in various assignments for a total of 10 years in the military. At the AF Academy I went through the training that includes Freefall parachuting, soaring, SERE, and preliminary flight training (to include solo flight). Below are some pictures of me throughout the process and some that represent what I went through!
Note - I put some awesome flyovers at the bottom to reward your scrolling through all the pictures! :)
First Year is always the worst!

Guess the person who I'm shaking hands with ;)
This was not static line - I got to put the rip cord for the 5 jumps! After the 5 jumps I got "blood" wings - ask me what that means ;)
This was intense since you had no engine and had to plan ahead to be sure you got back to the landing area!
Some of the most intensive training on the planet! It was done at the Academy as most graduates go on to be pilots where SERE is required.

When I was at the Academy they used the T-41C, a version of the Cessna 172, to train on(there is a newer plane now). Flying is incredible and amazing, but took a ton of training and classroom work to understand all the lingo and avionic systems (and of course all the reasons things can go wrong!)
Flyovers at the AF Academy were some of the most awesome memories I have. Here are a few newer ones that bring back that same feeling!
