It's hard to fit everything I would want to say about you into the space of a card. And, my handwriting isn't great (as you know), so I thought I'd try something different this year.
It's funny how fast the trajectory of life can change for the better. I didn't realize my joking about finding a Mexican wife on that mission trip would come true. But, God had you in mind for me, even before I knew.
We've been through so much over the years, and grown stronger together. We have opposite ways of doing a lot of things, but it helps us keep balance. I will do my best to be the man you expect me to be, and to grow into someone who can lead the family through whatever comes next.
I know you dread turning 40, but it's just a new chapter of life we'll get to explore together. You look as beautiful to me now as the day we met, and age won't change that. I know we don't have a lot of people nearby to throw a big party, or a lot of money to shower you with all of the gifts I want to give you, but, I know we'll make memories to treasure. And, we'll find a way to get you some cheesecake 😁
So, on this birthday, the 17th I've shared with you, I pray for God's continued favor on your life, our marriage, our daughter, and all of the puppies of the world that you care for so deeply.
Thank you for always supporting me, and being a voice of reason, without discouraging me. Thank you for loving me and standing behind me for these years, and in the years to come.
Happy 40th Birthday!
I love you Puppy
