The Chosun University Humanities & Data Science Research Center selected five students from the HK Global Fellowship in 2025. This fellowship is a program that supports student researchers who have collected data and completed preliminary analysis to develop their research to the level of academic journal publication through collaborative mentoring.
The Chosun University Humanities & Data Science Research Center is pleased to host a guest lecture by Professor Eun-Jung Gong from the School of Humanities and Sciences at Korea Aerospace University.
Professor Gong investigates individual differences in speech production and perception through an acoustic-phonetic approach, and in this lecture, she will present her latest research findings in the field.

HK research professor Kim Joo-kyung will attend the November reading session (SpaceShare Day, 15/11) of the second semester of 2025 of the Korean Phonological Association and present her doctoral dissertation "Cross-Linguistic Influences on the Isogenic Production of Heritage Spanish: Speech and Phonological Analysis."
HK Research Professor Ioana Buhnila presented her research, "Semantic and Pragmatic Annotation of Paraphrases in the Era of Large Language Models," at the 50th Anniversary International Conference of the Linguistic Society of Korea (October 31–November 1, Seoul National University).
Our research team presented four papers at the BUCLD (Boston University Conference on Language Development), including a collaborative study with Stanford University.
The Center for Data Science in Humanities at Chosun University, in collaboration with Korea Aerospace University, UPenn, and Chosun Biomedical Science, has launched 'Elderly Speech Korea.' This project utilizes long-form recordings of daily speech to identify digital language biomarkers for the early detection of neurocognitive disorders like Alzheimer's. The goal is to build a key Korean database bridging clinical linguistics and AI-based cognitive decline detection.
