These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Solanki Vaishali Naranbhai ("ChoreStars," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the ChoreStars application and services (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are a Parent or legal guardian and that you are responsible for any Kid profiles you create and for the use of the App by your Kids.
ChoreStars helps families manage chores and rewards. Parents can create Kid profiles, assign chores, award and track stars, manage rewards, and optionally set screen-time limits on a Kid's device. Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Kids join a family using an invite code; you are responsible for sharing invite codes appropriately and for the devices on which Kids sign in.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You are solely responsible for deciding what chores, rewards, and limits are appropriate for your Kids.
The Screen Time / app-management feature is a tool to assist Parents. It is not a substitute for parental supervision, and we do not guarantee that it will block or limit every app or all content in every situation, including due to device settings, OS limitations, or technical issues.
You are responsible for complying with the rules of any device you manage and for any other users of that device.
ChoreStars offers premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions (and/or other plans) purchased via Google Play Billing.
Pricing and plans are shown in the App and at the time of purchase. We may offer monthly, yearly, and/or one-time/lifetime options, and a free trial where indicated.
Free trial: if a free trial is offered, unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged.
Auto-renewal: auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Payment: charges are made to your Google Play account. We do not process or store your payment card details.
Managing and cancelling: you can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: purchases are generally handled under Google Play's refund policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Changes: we may change subscription pricing or plans prospectively; changes will not affect a billing period already paid for.
You agree not to:
use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt the App, its servers, or security;
reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works of the App except as permitted by law;
use the App to harm, exploit, or collect data about children other than your own Kids whom you are responsible for; or
misuse invite codes or attempt to access families or data that are not yours.
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App (such as chore names, reward names, and profile details). You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process that content solely to operate and provide the App to you. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to provide it.
The App, including its design, mascot, graphics, text, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, family use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The App uses third-party services, including Google Firebase and Google Play. Your use of those services may be subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that the Screen Time feature will function without limitation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Your Company / Developer Legal Name] and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [Your Company / Developer Legal Name] from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or to protect the App and its users. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your state/country], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in [your jurisdiction], unless applicable law provides otherwise.
