This Privacy Policy explains how Solanki Vaishali Naranbhai ("ChoreStars," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ChoreStars mobile application and related services (the "App").
ChoreStars is a family chore-and-rewards app. A parent or guardian ("Parent") creates and manages the family account, sets up profiles for their children ("Kids"), assigns chores, awards stars, manages rewards, and can optionally manage screen-time limits on a Kid's device.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
A ChoreStars account must be created by an adult (18+) Parent or legal guardian.
Parents set up Kid profiles and are responsible for the information they provide about their Kids.
Kids do not create their own accounts; they join a family using an invite code provided by their Parent, with no email or password required from the Kid.
a. Information a Parent provides
Account information: name and email address (via Google Sign-In or other sign-in we offer through Firebase Authentication).
Family setup: family name and settings.
Kid profile information: the Kid's first name (or nickname), an avatar, and optionally an age or age range that the Parent chooses to provide.
Chore and reward content: tasks, reward names, star values, notes, and similar content you create.
b. Activity information
Chores completed, stars earned and spent, rewards redeemed, streaks, and related progress data used to operate the App.
c. Screen Time & App Management data (optional feature)
If a Parent enables the Screen Time / app-limits feature on a Kid's device, the App may access, on that device:
the list of installed applications, and
app usage information (such as how long apps are used),
using Android's Usage Access and/or Accessibility Service permissions.
This information is used solely to display usage to the Parent and to enforce the limits and rules the Parent sets. We do not use Accessibility data for advertising, and we do not sell it. You can disable this feature and revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
d. Purchase information
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive your subscription status (for example, active, trial, expired) but we do not collect or store your credit/debit card or full payment details — Google handles payment processing.
e. Technical and diagnostic information
Basic device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, language) and diagnostic/crash data, collected through Google/Firebase services to keep the App reliable and secure.
We use the information above to:
provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
create and manage family, Parent, and Kid profiles;
track chores, stars, and rewards;
provide and enforce optional screen-time limits set by the Parent;
process and manage subscriptions through Google Play;
respond to support requests;
maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix bugs; and
comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to serve advertising.
ChoreStars is designed to be set up and managed by Parents. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts or provide personal information directly to us beyond what is needed to participate in their family's chores (for example, a first name or nickname and a chosen avatar provided by the Parent).
The Parent controls all Kid profile information and can review, edit, or delete it at any time within the App.
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the family features and do not require a Kid's email, phone number, or precise location.
We comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where it applies. By creating a Kid profile, the Parent consents to the collection and use of that information as described in this policy.
A Parent may withdraw consent and request deletion of a Kid's information at any time (see Section 10).
If you believe a child has provided us information without the appropriate parental consent, please contact us at [support@yourdomain.com] and we will delete it.
ChoreStars does not display third-party advertisements.
We do not sell or rent your or your Kids' personal information.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
We share information only as needed to run the App:

Google Play Billing for processing subscriptions and purchases.
Legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
The App relies on third-party services that have their own privacy policies, including:

Google Play In-App Review (used to optionally request app ratings).

Your data is stored on secure Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure and may be processed in countries where Google operates.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete a profile or your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to comply with legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
You can:

We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
If you use the App outside [your country], you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Account / Sign-in — to create and secure the Parent account.
Internet / Network — to sync data with our servers.
Usage Access — (optional) to show app-usage time for the Screen Time feature.
Accessibility Service — (optional) to enforce the app limits a Parent sets for a Kid's device. This is used only for parental controls and not for collecting data for advertising.
Billing — to process subscriptions through Google Play.
You can grant or revoke optional permissions at any time in your device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
