【ミサとは】
【ミサとは】
カトリックのミサとは、イエス・キリストの死と復活を記念し、神さまに感謝と賛美をささげる儀式です。
聖書のことばを聞き、聖歌と祈り、聖体拝領（キリストのからだであるパンをいただく）を通して、信者はキリストとの交わりを深めます。
1週間の心の疲れをいやし、次の1週間を新たな気持ちで再出発する力をもらいます。
ミサはどなたでも参加できます。
聖体拝領の際、未信者の方は司祭から祝福を受けることができます。
【What is Mass?】
The Catholic Mass is a ritual that commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and offers thanks and praise to God. Through listening to the words of the Bible, singing hymns and prayers, and receiving Holy Communion (the bread that is the body of Christ), believers deepen their communion with Christ. It heals the emotional exhaustion of the week and gives strength to start anew in the following week.Anyone can participate in the Mass.During Holy Communion, non-believers can receive a blessing from the priest.

1895年頃から宣教が開始された。
1952年11月に亀の甲に聖堂が建てられ正式に長府教会が始まりました。
1959年に現在地に移転し聖堂と神父館を建設しました。
2004年にそれまでの木造の聖堂から鉄筋コンクリート造の現代的な聖堂へ生まれ変わりました。
長府は歴史と伝統に富む古い城下町で観光スポットがたくさんあります。
【History of the Church 】
Missionary work began around 1895.
In November 1952, a chapel was built on Turtle Shell Hill, and the Chofu Church officially started.
In 1959, it moved to its current location and constructed a chapel and a rectory.
In 2004, it transformed from a wooden chapel to a modern reinforced concrete chapel.
Chofu is an old castle town rich in history and tradition, with many tourist attractions.

【守護聖人】Patron saint
③ファチマの聖母マリア
③ファチマの聖母マリア
カトリック教会にはそれぞれ保護の聖人が決められています。長府教会の保護の聖人は、ファチマの聖マリアです。1953年長府教会設立にあたり、初代主任司祭セルメニヨ神父の尽力により、スペインから贈られた聖母像が、今も教会の裏手に立っています。
1917年5月13日、ポルトガルの寒村ファチマにて、聖母マリアが3人の少年少女に現れました。マリアさまは3つの重大な預言を残し、私たちが祈りと節制に励む真面目な生き方をするように諭されました。今ではカトリックの公式の巡礼地となり、多くの巡礼者が訪れる聖地となっています。
私たちもこのファチマの聖マリアの保護のもと、祈りと愛を大切にした生き方が送れるように、祈りをささげてみましょう！
③Our Lady of Fatima
Each Catholic church has a designated patron saint. The patron saint of Chofu Church is Our Lady of Fatima. When Chofu Church was founded in 1953, the first parish priest, Father Cermenillo, ordered a statue of the Virgin Mary from Spain, which still stands at the back of the church.
On May 13, 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three boys and girls in the isolated village of Fatima, Portugal. She left three important prophecies and admonished us to live honest lives, devoted to prayer and self-restraint. It has now become an official Catholic pilgrimage site, and is a holy place visited by many pilgrims.
Let us also offer our prayers under the protection of Our Lady of Fatima, so that we may live lives cherishing prayer and love!
④教会の鐘
④教会の鐘
この鐘は、1952年10月、山口市亀山にサビエル記念聖堂が建立された際、1549年に渡来したフランシスコ・サビエルの来日400年を記念するものでした。
この記念聖堂は1991年の火災により焼失しました。
焼け落ちた6個の鐘の中から選び出して、修復したものです。
東洋に福音を伝えようと、遠くスペイン・バスクより訪れたサビエルの志に耳を傾けたいと願うものです。
④Church bells
This bell was erected in October 1952 when the Xavier Memorial Church was built in Kameyama, Yamaguchi City, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Francisco Xavier's arrival in Japan in 1549. The church was destroyed in a fire in 1991. This bell was selected from the six destroyed bells and restored. It is a tribute to the aspirations of Xavier, who came all the way from the Basque region of Spain to spread the Gospel to the East.

教会には普段、カトリック司祭が司祭室にいます。
神父さまはミサ・結婚式・葬儀などの司式をはじめ、病人を訪問したり、苦しんでいる人の悩みを聞いたりします（電話でも、個人面談でも）。
また、未信徒のために講座を開いています。
教会を訪問された際、神父さまにお会いになることもお勧めします。
