First Meeting
It was a really hard day at work. Choco’s head pulsated from all the numbers and letters she saw in her administration work at the hospital. Codes for Diagnosis, Codes for Procedures and operations, they all span in her head. And so, she didn’t see the big guy she walked into.
As she heard his deep grunt, she immediately looked up to look into a scarred face and a cold expression.
Choco froze for a bit. This was it. This was her end.
This Dude was huge, strong and she was so sure he would just beat her down for walking into him. Or at least scream at her, telling her what a stupid girl she was.
But none of that happened.
The man looked at Choco still, a cigar in his mouth. The scared expression of the young woman actually made him feel sorry. She must be terrified of his looks. Which was understandable for him. He looked like a demon.
He wanted to turn around and leave. The sad expression of the woman made his heart drop. And so, he was on his way to his motorbike. He was just released from the Hospital after a heavy injury. And he didn’t want to cause more trouble.
As he turned around, he only heard the shout of the young woman.
“I’m so so sorry, mister!!”
He turned around again. Tears. There were tears in her eyes. She was really deeply sorry… for him?
After silent looks, he sighed. “It’s okay. Don’t worry…”
“Choco! My name i-is Choco!”
The two people stood there, in silence, just looking at each other. Choco had to admit, his deep voice sounded so strong. So deep. So… comforting.
“...Big Boss.” After a while, he looked at Choco, who seemed a bit confused about his title.
“You can just call me Jack-”
Wait. Damn it. Why the hell did he say his real name?! Everyone knew him as Big Boss, even his soldiers. Or… could he trust this small woman? This small, blushing Woman?
Wait… she blushed?!
Apparently she wasn’t as scared anymore, as she noticed that the big man meant no harm.
He looked a bit curiously at her, while she seemed to blush even more. Yep. It was clear as day that this tiny woman found a liking in him.
And he actually was comfortable with this. Which spell did she cast onto him…?
“Ey.” After some silence, Jack, or should I say, Big Boss found his words again.
“Are you on your way home?”
Choco, finally finding a way out of her paralysis, blinked a few times, then she nodded. Her sleepiness settled in again.
“Yes… My home is around 5 minutes away from this workplace, when I take my car.”
She looked so tired, so exhausted. He knew: If she drove, she might cause an accident.
“Choco.” Big Boss suddenly seemed a bit more relaxed.
“Mind if I drive you home?”
Choco’s eyes grew wide, it almost seemed like stars shone in them.
“I- It’s ok, it’s not a long way, I-”
Suddenly, Big Boss looked intensely into her eyes.
“I worry you might fall asleep while driving. I know, I’m a stranger to you. But please, don’t drive.”
Silence. Again. Choco looked almost moved by his kind words.
After a while, she just nodded, and carefully took his big hand… a robotic hand.
She didn’t ask questions. He seemed like a man who saw a lot of pain, and she didn’t want to bring it up now. And so, the two walked to his Motorbike. She sat down behind him, holding tight onto his strong body.
And while he started the engine and drove, Choco, tied to the bike, slowly dozed off.
All she could remember at this point was waking up in her bed, and finding a note with a phone number and the following words.
“Please call me - Jack.”
The start of a friendship, slowly turning into love…
