July 2024: Chiara was invited to give a Semi-Plenary Lecture at the 16th World Congress on Computational Mechanics and 4th Pan American Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM-PANACM) in Vancouver, Canada.

June 2024: Chiara and Arne participated to the final event of the European project H2020 SUSTAINair in Vienna.    

May 2024: Prof. Mary Frecker, Prof. Lorraine Dowler and two PhD students of Penn State University visited the group for two weeks thanks to the new NSF-ERC collaboration. 

March 2024: Chiara gave a presentation at the Training School on Computational Modelling and Advanced Design Approaches (COMADA), final event of the COST Action “Optimising Design for Inspection - ODIN”, at the University of Belgrade.

January 2024: Dr. Sathiskumar Anusuya Ponnusami, of City University of London, visited the group and gave a talk, thanks to an UK-Italy Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence Researcher Award from the Alan Turing Institute.   

January 2024: Michelle won the “Lockheed Martin Student Paper Award in Structures” at the AIAA SciTech conference in Orlando.

November 2023: Chiara was interviewed by RAI Tre. The interview was broadcast on the program “Fuori TG”.

October 2023: Chiara was invited to give a Keynote Lecture at the 38th American Society of Composites (ASC) Technical Conference in Boston.

April 2023: Chiara starts her new position as Professor at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano. 

March 2023: Chiara and Javier went to Bengaluru for a collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science and were invited to give a lecture at Airbus.   

March 2023: During a visit of the Bengaluru Palace, Chiara talk with a female local school. 

November 2022: On the occasion of the State Visit of the President of the Italian Republic, Chiara was invited at a lunch by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. 

November 2022: Meeting at TU Delft of the working group ‘Airframe Structure Modeling & Simulation Credibility Assurance Framework’. 

September 2022: Chiara and Michelle are ready to test a Conical-Cylindrical Shells for Launch-Vehicle Applications at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center .

October 2021: Chiara and Antonio went to Reykjavik for the COST ODIN project meeting, the first business trip since the start of the pandemic.

July 2021: We successfully completed the fatigue tests of the ONR project.  

March 2021: Chiara was announced as one of the Class of 2021 AIAA Fellows. 

March 2021: We were finally able to perform tests of ONR project in the lab. 

February 2021: Chiara, Antonio and Marta have given lectures at the “Giornata dedicata alla ricerca e ai ricercatori italiani nei Paesi Bassi”, organized by the Italian Embassy in the Netherlands in the presence of Ambassador Giorgio Novello  

January 2021: SDM lecture honoring Dr. Steve Engelstad at virtual AIAA SciTech conference

August 2020: We successfully performed water impact tests of composite panels for the PhD thesis of Yu Qian at the Crash Lab of the Politecnico di Milano.
