Please do not go out and buy anything! Simply use items you find in your house and get playing! Here are some ideas...
The drums that you can hit with sticks
Something you can use to shake! You can fill up a bottle with something small, or even use something like a box of rice!
Something you can scrape something else against, such as a water bottle and scraping a pencil along the side of it!
Complete a flipgrid here: https://flipgrid.com/81a8a4b7, or click the picture to the left, sharing your bucket drumming skills! Perform either a rhythm you created, or play along to a song, like "Can't Stop The Feeling" below.
This week, we'll learn some bucket drumming!
See the video next to this to see an example.
Bucket drumming is a fun way to play drums without being too loud for others, and it's a great way to play along with songs!
We'll learn different ways to perform and even create your own rhythms, and maybe you'll be able to create your own bucket drumming song to a song you love!
Here's another awesome video of some drumming, too!

The art of "Foley" is people who create sound effects and music to films!

This picture shows hand signs and syllables for something called Solfege!
Solfege helps with not only creating and playing music, but also in singing and in communicating with other musicians!
You can always come back here to look at the picture if you forget.
You can click the picture to the left to access Songmaker and begin using it!
Below, you can see how solfege is represented by each square/color and where they are in the grid.
As the notes go up or down, you'll see how they repeat themselves after going halfway up or down the page.
Try going through each color and syllable and try the hand signs out for each one!
Below you can see the solfege syllables and what colors they are on Songmaker.
Next, try copying the song below yourself and see if you know what it is when you play it back!
Come up with or create your own song by first creating a melody that you like in the top half of Songmaker!
Then, add something called "Harmony". Harmony can be added by putting the same colors/notes in the same spots in the lower half of Songmaker.
You can also add drums at the very bottom of Songmaker.
Then, then click copy link to highlight it, and press ctrl+c to copy it.
Put the link in the answer to your question about what you learned in the exit form.
Try creating the different secret "combinations" for special videos on Incredibox, found at the top with the three circle icons.
You can find the website here: www.incredibox.com
Feel free to share the link to your creation in the question about what you learned on the exit form
Go to www.incredibox.com.
Click on "Try Web Version".
Disable ad blocker if it asks you to. (you might not have to do this step)
Select a version to use. Different versions are different styles of music so try them all out! Some will be locked for you, so try the ones you can.
Once it loads, click the Play button.
Now you can start making music! Drag the different sounds from the bottom onto the seven beatboxers or singers and listen to what each sound is. It will change their clothes as well. It will also continuously loop your song, meaning it will continually play and repeat itself.
The play/pause button at the top right can play/pause the music.
Putting your mouse over active beatboxers will reveal icons for muting, soloing, and canceling that sound.
The three lines icon at the top left will allow you to reset, record, or go back to the home screen to try another version.
For each version, there are circle icons in the middle above the beatboxers. Clicking those will reveal what combinations of sounds will give you a bonus song and music video.
For each day, experiment with different versions and find out which one is your favorite one that you would want to use to make your own song and record to submit.
Clicking the record button will record anything you do. You can mute certain beatboxers and bring them back in later, or slowly add new ones in as the song goes on. Try experimenting with recording and what you can do!
Record a final mix/song to be submitted, at least a minute long. Look at the checklist below these instructions to know what is required!
After recording it, click Save, then type in your name, the title of the song, and a dedication if you want.
Next, click the Share button, then the Mix Link button. Make sure not to close the window yet or you'll lose your mix!
Copy the mix link by either highlighting/clicking the link and pressing Ctrl+C, Command+C, or ⌘+C at the same time, depending on your computer. You can also right-click it and click the word Copy.
Paste the mix link at the bottom of the exit ticket by clicking inside the box and pressing either Ctrl+V, Command+V, or ⌘+V. You can also right click inside the box and press Paste.
Make sure to save a copy of the link somewhere for yourself, so you can always have it!
Submit your final mix link on the exit form

Mozart's Variations on "Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDMvvelPXj0
In this piece, Mozart takes "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and shows the many ways he can change the melody!
Eine kleine Nachtmusik (Trust me - you'll know this one!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5CYkjVxgP4

Make a Mozart flipbook (if you have not done this before in class, you will find instructions on how to complete it)
Color a picture of Mozart
Try playing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" on the piano or xylophone (if you have one at home)
You will find music with the notes marked in. You will also find a picture that shows you where to find the notes on the piano.
See if you can change the melody like Mozart did. If you make something you want to share, post it on Flipgrid!
