This Privacy Policy applies to the Chess Tournament Manager mobile application, also published as Chess Tournaments on Android, provided by Daniel Milano ("we", "us", or "Service Provider").
The app helps users create and manage chess tournaments, including players, rounds, pairings, results, standings, PDFs, premium features, sign-in, and optional cloud backup. This service is provided as a freemium service and is intended for use as is.
We collect and process information only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, improve, and support the app.
The app lets you create and manage chess tournament data. This may include:
tournament names;
player names;
Elo ratings or similar rating values;
rounds, pairings, results, standings, tiebreaks, byes, and winners;
app preferences, such as language, theme, and tournament settings.
This information is primarily stored locally on your device. If you use cloud backup, the app may back up this information to your own cloud account as described below.
The app supports account sign-in through platform-dependent providers, such as Google Sign-In on Android and Sign in with Apple on iOS. Depending on your platform and the provider you choose, we may receive and process:
an account user identifier;
your email address;
your display name;
a profile photo URL, if provided by the sign-in provider;
Firebase Authentication identifiers associated with your account.
We use this information to sign you in, identify your app account, sync premium entitlement state, and associate cloud backup metadata with the correct signed-in user.
The app uses RevenueCat and the app stores to manage premium features and subscription or purchase status. We may process:
purchase and subscription status;
product identifiers;
purchase dates, renewal status, and entitlement status;
app store transaction information provided by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or their SDKs;
account identifiers needed to associate your premium entitlement with your signed-in app account.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, and their payment infrastructure.
Cloud backup is optional and may require sign-in and an active premium entitlement.
On Android, the app may use Google Drive app data storage to save and restore app backups in your Google account.
On iOS, the app may use CloudKit/iCloud private database storage to save and restore app backups in your Apple/iCloud account.
Backups may include the tournament and player data listed above, plus backup metadata such as format version, schema version, file name, creation date, and the signed-in app user identifier used to match the backup to the correct user.
The app uses analytics and crash reporting to understand app usage, diagnose problems, and improve reliability. This may include:
app interactions and feature usage;
device and operating system information;
app version and platform;
crash logs and diagnostic data;
product interaction events such as creating a tournament, opening the privacy policy, sharing a PDF, or starting a purchase flow;
event parameters such as tournament format, number of players, number of rounds, and, in some app versions, tournament names entered by the user.
We do not use analytics data for advertising tracking.
When you use the app and related services, third-party SDKs and platform services may automatically process technical information such as:
device identifiers or installation identifiers;
IP address;
operating system and app version;
approximate country or region derived from network or store data;
crash and performance diagnostics;
product interaction data.
We use information to:
provide tournament-management features;
save and restore local app data;
provide account sign-in;
enable optional cloud backup and restore;
verify and restore premium purchases or subscriptions;
provide customer support;
prevent abuse, fraud, and entitlement errors;
improve app stability, performance, and usability;
comply with legal obligations and app store requirements.

These providers may process data as service providers, processors, or independent controllers depending on the service, platform, and account you use.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only:
with service providers that help operate app functionality, analytics, crash reporting, sign-in, purchase verification, or cloud backup;
with Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, or cloud providers as required for the features you use;
when required by law, legal process, or government request;
when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, app security, or prevent fraud or abuse.
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, clear app data, or remove it through your device operating system.
Cloud backups remain in your Google Drive app data storage or iCloud/CloudKit account until replaced, deleted through available app functionality, deleted from your cloud account where supported, or removed following a valid deletion request where we are able to perform the deletion.
Account, purchase, analytics, and diagnostic data may be retained by Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and related services according to their own retention policies and as needed for purchase restoration, fraud prevention, legal compliance, analytics, and support.
We retain support emails and deletion requests for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep records of the request, and comply with legal obligations.

Please use the subject line Chess Tournament Manager - Account and Data Deletion and include the email address or account provider used to sign in to the app. We may need to verify that you control the account before deleting account-linked data.

When you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify app account data that we control, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and app store purchase-record requirements. Some data may remain with third-party providers, app stores, or cloud providers under their own policies. Purchase records maintained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat may need to be retained to comply with app store, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and refund requirements.
Deleting the app from your device may remove local data from that device, but it may not delete cloud backups, purchase records, analytics, crash logs, or account data already processed by third-party services.
You may stop further app data collection by uninstalling the app.
You may avoid cloud backup by not using backup features.
You may avoid account-linked features by not signing in, although some premium, restore, or backup features may require sign-in.
You may manage app store subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
You may manage Google Drive or iCloud data through your Google or Apple account where those platforms provide controls.
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at bottega.software@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the app and related services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, depending on the location of our service providers, app store providers, cloud providers, and infrastructure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the updated policy.
