This is where kids can record the books they are reading, set a purpose for why they are reading the book and reflect on parts of the book they enjoy, quotes they love, question they have and connections they make. These can be used to share their books during book club or as research for projects they are working on.
7/20/2025- I am reading a book called "Craft and Process Studies" by Matt Glover. This book helps teachers to create great writer's workshops for kids. It explains why it is important for kids to have a choice about the genre they write in so they will learn about who they are as a writer and feel engaged in writing that feels relevant to them. I am reading this book because I want to include writer's workshop as a daily activity at Bridges Academy and so I am learning more about best practices for how to use writer's workshop with kids. So far, my favorite part of this book is that it tells about writer's workshop practices, but it also includes videos so you can see the author at work with kids in a classroom.
