Hi, I'm Cheryl Latta. I am one of the teachers at Bridges Academy. I have been a teacher for over 20 years and I have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. I have lived in Charlotte for the past 8 years and before that I lived in Beijing for 11 years. I have traveled to many different countries including: Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, China, Mexico, Indonesia and more! I love reading, gardening, cooking, learning new things and collaborating with others. One of my favorite things to do is to wonder and ask questions and then figure out what I think about new ideas. I love to research about current event topics and I am passionate about supporting kids to become active citizens who are ready to participate in democracy. I believe that teachers are thinking partners who work alongside kids to help them grow in their understanding of who they are as people and learners so they can make powerful choices about next steps on their life long learning journey.
