In Key Stage 3 we provide students with quality first teaching across both a health and games based curriculum model.
In 'PE' (health based model) Students experience a range of exercise based lessons centred around types of training. These lessons prioritise activity, exercise, and teach skills and knowledge which will empower and allow our students to be able to stay physically healthy for the rest of their lives.
In 'GAMES' students are taught the fundamental and advanced skills to play a range of sports and activities.
At Key Stage 4 we recognise the need for PE to evolve in line with how each students relationship with exercise evolves. Our aim is to ensure that all students to have the opportunity to take part in physical activity which is most useful and appropriate
Students will have the option of choosing their Key Stage 4 PE pathway. Pathways of 'Traditional Sports', 'Alternative Sports', and 'Health and Fitness' will be available to select for a half term commitment.
By giving this autonomy to students we hope to reenforce and cement the vital role that exercise plays in our lives and give students the skills and experience to continue with physical activity when they finish compulsory PE lessons after KS4.
