Computational and Systems biology
Welcome to Dr. Chen Huang's lab at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
We deeply couple systematic large-scale biomedical data mining with knowledge-driven strategies to improve fundamental understanding of the complex diseases (esp. cancer) and provide clinical insights.
We strive to:
Understand the big data
Understand the biological questions and clinical needs
Develop and apply computational methods to make sense of the data
While we are broadly interested in biomedical research driven by big data and computational innovation, we are particularly fascinated by the field of proteogenomics, which is the interface between NGS-based genomics and mass spec-based proteomics. Please read here for more details.
