Welcome to my website!

My name is Dr. Chelsea Pederson and I'm an assistant professor at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering. I'm also a Vice President of the International Association of Sedimentologists. I'm originally from California and came to study Geology after delving  into Marine Science during my early years. I love to hike, travel, and hike while traveling :)  I enjoy playing sports and hanging out with my family in my spare time. I currently have 3 graduate students - all working on very different projects. See our lab page to find out more.
