Hello!
My name is Chelsea, and I am a proud wife, mother, and nurse. My husband is a firefighter for the City of Everett, and together we are raising two beautiful daughters—Hazel (5) and Hadlee (4). We have a deep love for the Pacific Northwest and spend much of our free time boating through the islands. Traveling into Canada is also a favorite adventure of ours—we appreciate their hospitality, breathtaking views, and rich history. As a family, we stay active and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Whether we’re hiking, skiing, or trying a new activity, we’re always chasing the next experience that brings joy and connection.
From a young age, I knew that nursing was my calling. After completing my undergraduate degree, I jumped into my first nursing role and continued on to earn my bachelor's degree. I initially envisioned my career in labor and delivery, the emergency room, or at least within a hospital setting. However, when I joined The Everett Clinic (now Optum), I discovered a wide range of nursing opportunities, including mentoring and precepting new teammates. I quickly volunteered for this role and found great fulfillment in teaching and supporting others.
This passion led me to the Clinical Education Department—a dynamic team that goes far beyond traditional orientation and competency training. Our work includes mentorship, scope of practice support, policy and protocol development, just-in-time training, evaluation of medical devices, implementation of new medications, quality improvement, infection control, and the creation of nurse residency and clinical programs—just to name a few.
This role has truly shaped my vision for the future. I’m deeply committed to mentoring and educating the next generation of nurses, and I look forward to growing both personally and professionally as I continue my journey in nurse education.
