Obesity

In the U.S., 59% of dogs and 61% of cats

were classified as overweight or obese in 2022.

Excess fat increases inflammation and pain.

Controlled exercise and calorie restriction (with an appropriate diet) are valuable for preventing or treating canine and feline obesity.

It takes a team to support weight loss and prevent obesity in your pet:

Your veterinarian: We advise working with your veterinarian to screen for underlying causes for obesity and develop a weight loss plan.

You and your family: It is important to provide the right amount of nutritious food at home to prevent calorie overload.  Slow and controlled leashed walks are essential for fitness and weight management.

C-ARC: We can help you develop a weight loss plan for your pet!  We're also here to help your pet exercise in a safe and controlled manner to build muscle and start shedding excess fat.
