What We Believe

Just who are we, and what do we believe?  Those questions can be answered by the following documents: our Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Membership Guidelines. But above all, this principle of CHEF guides us: "The basis for our rules and conduct and the final authority for its operation are God's Word".

Mission Statement

Christian Home Educators Fellowship has been formed to serve as an organization of Christian homeschool families committed to maintaining educational freedom and encouraging educational excellence. We are advocates for home education in our community and states. We believe that parents are responsible for the education of their children with the authority to evaluate and select among educational alternatives. We are a pro-family education support group dedicated to the preservation of Biblical and Constitutional rights of conscience and parental freedom. We strive toward open communication and understanding of one another. We are not a legal defense organization and any advice or information from us is opinion formed from research and is not meant to be substitute for competent legal advice. We strongly encourage each member family to join the Home School Legal Defense Association or a state legal defense organization.

Statement of Faith

I believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.  I support Biblical marriage as being between one man and one woman. We believe that God exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ was God in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, yet committed no sin. I believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and the central purpose of the incarnation of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead in triumph over death and Satan. I believe salvation is a gift of God offered by his grace and mercy and that I have accepted that gift.
