Fire Procedure
This is the procedure for if there is a fire alert, it should be followed exactly to ensure safety for everyone inside the hospital. There will be fire training as well as designated fire wardens to take charge of evacuation in the event higher up Individuals are not present.
Steps to take
First, if applicable, the location of the fire should be disclosed through the radio.
The next steps would be staff evacuating people from around the area of the fire, if the location is known.
All patients should be directed to the fire assembly points.
After this all patients who physically cannot make their way out on their own should be evacuated (e.g patients on machines, the elderly, paralyzed patients).
Once all patients are evacuated and the building is empty, stay at the fire assembly point, check on the patients.
Do not try and enter the building until the fire department has deemed it safe.
Once permitted back into the hospital you should start with bringing in the most vulnerable first.
Any suspicion around this procedure not being followed properly will result in an investigation. It is vital this is followed to ensure safety for all.
