Disciplinary procedures
This will be a guide to the type of punishments you may receive within the NHS. These punishments are in place to educate as well as discipline poor choices within the National Health Service.
Verbal warning
VB
A verbal warning may be given for incidents that aren't very serious, or your first time in trouble.
Written warning
WW
A written warning is a warning that you will receive a letter about your actions and it will be logged to your record.
Suspension meeting
SM
A suspension meeting is where you will be scheduled for a meeting where you will be able to defend yourself or admit your mistakes, the command present will decide the length of your suspension (up to 3 days).
Executive meeting
EM
This is where you will be in a meeting with some of the highest members of the service to assess what's gone on and decide your punishment which could be a long suspension, removal or even blacklist. This is for the most serious rule breaks.
Demotion
DM
This is where you will be removed from your position to a lower one, this punishment can be issued on its own or paired alongside another. Command of your division will decide this. However, only Executives can demote command members.
Retraining
RT
This can be issued alongside another punishment if you're frequently breaking procedures or making mistakes. Any command member can refer you for retraining and you will not be able to carry on your normal duties unless the retraining is complete.
All these punishments will be on your record for the rest of your career, even if you resign and come back, this is the same for removal. This is to ensure frequent rule breakers are not being left under the radar. If you go a long while without punishment that will be taken into consideration.
