Probation is a very important thing when within the prison service. Welfare is also very important. This is why this division is a big part of HMPPS.

Prisoner Probation is very important as it allows prisoners to leave the prison and re-enter society with help and guidance. Our probation officers are fully trained and will help every step that needs to be taken. They will also ensure the prisoner on probation is sticking to the law and curfews. 

Prison Welfare is not just about prisoners but staff also. Being in the prison can effect mental health on both prisoners and prison officers so the welfare offices will help both sides to ensure they are in the mindset they can be in and also getting people help if they need it.
