Before any prison officer is ready to start their new career in the prison service, they will begin as operational support grade to prepare them for the job ahead. 

The prison service college do interviews, basic training and many other trainings that are for entry level into His Majestys Prison Service. When it comes to specialist trainings, the other divisions then come in and train you to the specification of that division, prison service college may help with that or may not be involved at all.

Prison Service College members are who people see when they first enter the prison service, in many ways they are the face of HMPPS. We look for professional and trustworthy people to be part of this team.
