General Directions: Energy storage and management, wireless power transfer (WPT), dynamics and motion control, and a wide range of applications in electronic devices, electric vehicles, microgrids and smart grids, etc. Current major interests include
Design, control and implementation of high-frequency power electronic devices, especially for WPT and energy routing;
Coordination and management of distributed energy networks from the perspective of new hardware architectures and algorithms;
Ongoing New Topics:
All-in-one multi-port multi-function energy routers (power routing, heating, EIS measurement, etc.);
Integrated battery electrical-thermal management system (power conversion architecture, modeling and control);
Three-dimensional magnetic field shaping by modular planar or quasi-planar transmitting coil arrays;
High-spatial-freedom wireless power transfer for medical implants, wearable devices, quadrotors, etc;
Cloud-local joint management of microgrids and smartgrids with dual redundancy;
Charging behavior-based EV fleet charging coordination and demand-side management.
