The meter isn't moving. Make sure you clicked "Allow" when Chrome asked for microphone access. If you clicked "Block," open ChatterBox settings or Chrome's settings and allow the microphone. Also check that the right microphone is selected and isn't muted.
It's always red (or always green). Run the three-step calibration in your classroom, at a normal class volume. Every room and microphone is different.
Is ChatterBox recording my class? No. It only measures how loud the room is, on your computer. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
Does it work on Chromebooks? Yes, anywhere the Chrome browser runs extensions.
My school blocks extensions. Your tech department can approve ChatterBox. Sharing the Privacy Policy page with them usually helps.
How do I reset everything? Use the reset option in ChatterBox settings, or remove and reinstall the extension.
